CAMDEN, N.J. — Less than two years ago, Al Horford was celebrating beating the Cheap Philadelphia 76ers Jerseys in a playoff series while a member of the Cheap Boston Celtics Jerseys.

Now, Horford still is trying to wrap his head around the fact that he will be lining up against Boston on Wednesday night as a member of the Sixers in the teams’ season opener.

“It is very surreal,” Horford said after practice Tuesday. “I never would have imagined being in this position. For me, it’s a great challenge ahead, being here and trying to accomplish something special here.”

Horford entered last season expecting to be part of something special in Boston. The Celtics had sky-high expectations after making it to the Eastern Conference finals the year before with both Kyrie Irving and Gordon Hayward sidelined due to injury.

If Stephen Curry needed any extra motivation, he has some, courtesy of Cheap Charlotte Hornets Jerseys owner Michael Jordan.

“He’s still a great player,” Jordan told NBC’s “Today” on Monday after saying that the Cheap Golden State Warriors Jerseys star wouldn’t be included on his dream five-man pick-up team. “Not a Hall of Famer yet, though. He’s not.”

Jordan said he’d stick with Hakeem Olajuwon, Scottie Pippen, Magic Johnson and James Worthy as his teammates on his fantasy starting five.

Curry has quite the résumé after 10 NBA seasons. He is a two-time league MVP — including the first unanimous selection — and has won three championships with the Warriors. In addition, Curry is a six-time All-Star selection, has won a scoring title, twice led the league in steals and is a three-time first-team All-NBA selection as well as an All-Rookie team pick.

His career mark of 23.5 points per game ranks 25th in NBA history, and he ranks third with 2,483 3-pointers after leading the league in that category for five consecutive seasons from 2012-13 through 2016-17.

Jordan, who won six NBA titles, five MVP awards, six Finals MVP awards and was a 14-time All-Star, was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 2009.

“I think Michael has his own version of the Hall of Fame,” Warriors coach Steve Kerr said with a smile after Tuesday’s practice. “It’s in his own head — so whatever that is, that’s what it is.”

Kerr was a teammate of Jordan’s with the Bulls, winning three consecutive NBA titles from 1996-1998.

Johnson, the Hall of Famer and former Cheap Los Angeles Lakers Jerseys executive, tweeted out his thoughts on Jordan’s statement.

Everyone relax. We know Steph Curry is a future Hall of Famer…Michael Jordan couldn’t say it because he would get fined by the league.

While with the Lakers, Johnson was fined $50,000 by the Cheap NBA Jerseys in 2018 for violating the league’s anti-tampering rule for saying young star Giannis Antetokounmpo would someday lead the Cheap Milwaukee Bucks Jerseys to a championship.

But rather than taking the East by storm last season, the Celtics instead fell flat, finishing with the fourth seed before being steamrolled by the top-seeded Milwaukee Bucks in five games in the second round.

Philadelphia enters this season with similar expectations after a busy summer that saw Horford and Josh Richardson arrive, and both Ben Simmons and Tobias Harris get massive long-term deals. Horford says he learned a few things from the way last season played out in Boston that he hopes to translate to this season with the Sixers.

“It’s good to have expectations, I believe,” he said. “You want to come out, you want to compete, you want to do special things. People see we are capable of them, but we have to go out and do them.

“One thing I’ve learned is that just because you’re expected [to win] doesn’t mean you’re going to get it done. I do believe we have a lot of work ahead as a group, we just do, and we’ll take it game-by-game this season.”

Horford surprised many by leaving Boston as a free agent this summer after opting out of the final year of his contract in June. For all of the attention that Irving’s departure to Brooklyn has received, the Celtics were able to replace him with another All-Star point guard, Kemba Walker. Boston didn’t have the same ability to replace Horford with a like replacement, and instead enters Wednesday’s showdown with a decidedly unsettled center rotation in his absence.

That, however, is not Horford’s concern. And while he won’t play the Celtics in Boston until Dec. 12, he said he is happy to get the first meeting out of the way as fast as he could.

“It’s a great opportunity for me,” Horford said. “I’m definitely put in a weird position here, but playing it now, to your question, it’s the best thing for me to go out there and do it and really cement myself here in Philadelphia.”

It also will be Horford’s first opportunity to play alongside Joel Embiid in a regular-season game. Horford earned a deserved reputation as one of few defenders capable of slowing down the Sixers’ superstar center while playing for the Celtics, but now will be playing much more regularly as a power forward alongside Embiid.

“It’s a different challenge,” Horford said. “For me, I’ll be guarding more on the perimeter, doing different things. It’s a different challenge, and I welcome and accept it, and I am glad I’m not guarding him anymore.”

Forward Taurean Prince has signed a two-year, $29 million contract extension with the Cheap Brooklyn Nets Jerseys, Steve Heumann of CAA Sports told ESPN.

Prince, who was traded to the Nets from Atlanta in June, was eligible for his rookie contract extension as part of the Cheap NBA Jerseys 2016 draft class.

Heumann and Dave Spahn negotiated the deal for CAA Sports, along with Richard Beda.

The two-year deal will allow Prince to have chance at unrestricted free agency at 28 years old — still in the prime of his career.

PLAYA VISTA, Calif. — After being cautious and playing in just two preseason games, Kawhi Leonard will have no limitations on him when he makes his Cheap Los Angeles Clippers Jerseys debut on Tuesday against the Cheap Los Angeles Lakers Jerseys.

Coach Doc Rivers said there will be no playing-time cap on his new star forward when Leonard faces LeBron James and Anthony Davis in the highly anticipated season opener between the Clippers and Lakers.

Leonard played a total of 33 minutes this preseason, averaging 10 points, four assists and 1.5 rebounds in two games. He logged 10 minutes and had seven points and six assists in his preseason debut against Denver before playing 22 minutes against Dallas and scoring 13 points while shooting 5-for-19 from the field.

Leonard said he felt much better entering this training camp than a year ago when he came off a quad injury that limited him to a total of nine games during the 2017-18 season in San Antonio. He played in a total of 60 regular-season games last season as the Cheap Toronto Raptors Jerseys monitored his health with load management. That allowed him to play 24 postseason games and help him win NBA Finals MVP and lead the Raptors to their first championship.

Leonard said his playing time and health would be managed differently this season and he largely paced himself in the preseason as the Clippers played it safe. Besides playing in two preseason games, he participated in scrimmages, including an open practice in front of fans last week.

Leonard has set the tone for other players with his all-business workouts, including going through a long workout on Saturday.

“It’s hard to explain,” Rivers said of Leonard’s work ethic. “He’s maniacal and it’s long and it’s very serious. I think for the young guys, even for our young coaches, like the seriousness that he takes his workouts [with], I’ve seen a couple of players that I won’t name that I’ve had, but other than that I haven’t seen anything like that. He’s not goofing around. He’s getting it done. No chat. It’s work time. He approaches practices that way, and I think it gives a lot of guys a serious focus that a coach can’t give you — only your best player can give you.”

Although he hasn’t had to play much in the preseason, Leonard is ready to help lead the Clippers deep into the playoffs. Expectations are higher than they’ve ever been for the Clippers, who are title contenders with Leonard and Paul George joining an overachieving and gritty group from last season. George is continuing to work his way back toward a possible November return from surgeries on both of his shoulders.

“Just here to help win games,” Leonard said of his presence. “Try to build a culture of winning and making everybody know that we’re playing ’til April [focused on regular season first and then postseason] and that’s pretty much it. Just trying to be the smartest team every night and try to build on something.”

“I feel like everybody wants to win,” Leonard added. “Everybody is a competitor. You know, how are we going to respond after big wins, tough losses, missed shots, that is what it’s about. Just keeping a steady mindset on the ultimate goal and not getting discouraged when things go bad or things get too good.”

Prince averaged 13.5 points, 3.6 rebounds, 2.1 assists last season. During the preseason, Prince averaged a team-high 16.8 points, 3.3 rebounds and 1.3 assists.

Prince played college ball at Baylor.

The Nets will open the regular season on Wednesday against Minnesota.

Cross another big name off the list of restricted free agents next summer: Center Nico Hischier and the Cheap New Jersey Devils Jerseys have come together on a seven-year deal worth $50.75 million.

Hischier, 20, was the first overall pick in the 2017 NHL draft. He has two assists in six games this season, having missed Thursday’s victory over the Cheap New York Rangers Jerseys with an injury. The Swiss-born center has 37 goals and 64 assists in 157 career Cheap NHL Jerseys games.

Cheap Toronto Maple Leafs Jerseys captain John Tavares will miss at least two weeks because of a broken finger.

The Maples Leafs announced the news Thursday, one day after Tavares suffered the injury in a 4-3 loss to the Cheap Washington Capitals Jerseys.

Tavares will be re-examined in two weeks, according to the team, meaning he would likely miss Toronto’s next six games.

Tavares, 29, has three goals and four assists in eight games this season, his second with the Maple Leafs.

“I like the direction the organization is going in, and the confidence they give me is all a player can ask for,” Hischier said. “We have a young, exciting team, and I am driven to try my best to help the team succeed every day. I was really welcomed here from day one, and I have always felt that I wanted to be part of the Devils.”

General manager Ray Shero said he is glad to have Hischier’s deal done.

“Nico is a special person who possess a team-first mentality combined with an inner drive to succeed,” Shero said. “The entire organization is thankful to him and his family for believing in our future. We are excited that he will continue to play a prominent role with us for many years to come.”

The contract carries an average annual value of $7.25 million. The first season (2020-21) has a base salary of $7 million; Hischier will make $8.5 million in the final season (2026-27).

Hischier joins several young NHL players who have signed contract extensions ahead of restricted free agency in June 2020. That includes Chicago forward Alex DeBrincat (three years, $6.4 million AAV), Arizona’s Clayton Keller (eight years, $7.15M AAV), Ottawa defenseman Thomas Chabot (eight years, $8M AAV) and Colorado defenseman Samuel Girard (seven years, $5M AAV).

This trend comes after last summer’s restricted free-agent tension, as several star players waited until weeks before the season to sign. One of those players — Carolina’s Sebastian Aho — inked an offer sheet with Montreal that was later matched by the Hurricanes.

With Hischier signed, the Devils have secured a part of their foundation, but the question remains whether winger Taylor Hall — Hischier’s linemate — will remain a part of that foundation. Hall is due to be an unrestricted free agent next summer, and would be coveted if he hits the market.

Cheap Sacramento Kings Jerseys guard Bogdan Bogdanovic is weighing a maximum contract extension from Sacramento or entering free agency after the season.

Bogdanovic told The Sacramento Bee on Tuesday that he has received a four-year, $51.4 million extension offer but has not decided whether he will sign it.

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — Kentucky coach John Calipari came out strongly against the idea that the Cheap NBA Jerseys would consider expanding beyond its current draft format of two rounds.

Speaking at the SEC Tipoff event on Wednesday, Calipari argued that additional rounds wouldn’t be for the NBA but rather to stock its developmental arm, the G League.

“If anybody supports more rounds in the draft, those more rounds are to get kids to go to the G League, you do not care about college basketball or you’re trying to ruin college Cheap Basketball Jerseys,” Calipari said.

Calipari’s comments come a day after Duke coach Mike Krzyzewski suggested more rounds in the NBA draft were a potential likelihood with the G League’s increasing impact on the league.

Calipari, who signed a 10-year, $85 million extension with Kentucky this summer, said he supports players’ ability to go directly to the NBA out of high school but is nonetheless wary of the G League. He said the developmental league’s current setup helps those who are playing “their way back into the league” as opposed to those who are trying to enter it for the first time.

“After two years they don’t perform, what? The NBA is going to take care of them and hire them? No. It’s entertainment. You’re done,” Calipari said.

Calipari stressed college as a more stable option.

“If they’re not going to the NBA, if we’re really about young people, we should encourage them to go to college,” he said. “And the reason is their way out is through education. Their way to break through to the American dream is education.”

Calipari also addressed the new California law that will allow college athletes in the state to collect money for endorsements beginning in 2023. He challenged a room full of reporters on whether they’d read the law line by line before saying that he hadn’t, either.

“But I do know that now there’s a law in New York, there’s one in Florida. How about this: Kentucky’s going to have a law,” he said. “That tells me there’s going to be 40 laws in 40 different states. Then the tea leaves tell me there’s one place this is going to get solved and it’s Congress. It’s not by the NCAA and it’s not by the states.”

While Calipari has long positioned himself as a supporter of college athletes having ownership of their name and likeness, he said he was worried about the next steps.

“There are all kinds of consequences that have to be addressed, and I’m coaching my team,” he said. “That’s what I’m doing, so I’m not spending much time on it.”

“They did, but we will wait to see,” Bogdanovic told the newspaper of the offer. “Maybe we will sign tomorrow. Maybe we sign in a month. Who knows? We will see.”

Bogdanovic, who averaged 14.1 points, 3.8 assists and 3.5 rebounds per game for the Kings last season, will play 2019-20 on the final season of a three-year, $27 million contract.

The 27-year-old told the Bee that he wants to stay in Sacramento but would not rush into signing a deal.

Bogdanovic would be a restricted free agent in the 2020 offseason.

THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. — In the midst of a three-game losing streak, the Cheap Los Angeles Rams Jerseys have suffered a string of injuries that could cause depth concerns at several positions.

On Monday, Rams coach Sean McVay announced veteran cornerback Aqib Talib will be placed on injured reserve because of fractured ribs and left guard Joe Noteboom will undergo season-ending surgery after tearing the ACL and MCL in his right knee.

Safety John Johnson III has a right shoulder injury. He will seek further testing and opinions, but it could sideline him indefinitely.

“This is a challenging time,” McVay said. “But it’s not something that you’re going to let be deflating.”

Rams running backs Todd Gurley and Malcolm Brown are considered day-to-day, McVay said, ahead of their Week 7 matchup against the Cheap Atlanta Falcons Jerseys.

Gurley was inactive last Sunday in a 20-7 loss to the 49ers because of a left thigh contusion, and Brown, who started in Gurley’s place, was slowed during the game because of an ankle injury.

Talib will be sidelined for at least eight weeks before he is eligible to return from IR. Each team can activate only two players from IR.

A 12th-year pro in the final season of a two-year, $19 million contract, Talib did not practice last week and was inactive 49ers, after suffering a rib injury in a Week 5 loss to the Cheap Seattle Seahawks Jerseys. Last season, Talib also was placed on injured reserve after he suffered an ankle injury in Week 3 that required surgery. He returned in Week 13.

Cornerback Troy Hill started seven games in Talib’s absence last season and started again last Sunday. A fifth-year pro, Hill finished with four tackles and a pass deflection. He is expected to maintain the starting role with Talib out.

Defensive end Michael Brockers said the defense would “take a big hit in our leadership,” in losing Talib, who plays in a secondary that includes safeties Eric Weddle and Johnson and cornerbacks Marcus Peters and Nickell Robey-Coleman.

Noteboom’s injury leaves the Rams thin on the offensive line.

“That’s a big loss,” McVay said about the first-year starter. “He made a lot of progress in the early stages of this season.”

Offensive guard Jamil Demby replaced Noteboom after he was sidelined against the 49ers, but McVay said the starting position would be evaluated moving forward.

“We’ll look outside and see if there’s maybe some guys available to add some depth, but we’ll fill the starting spot from inside,” said McVay. “Jamil has had a chance to play a lot of snaps, and David Edwards is a guy that we have a lot of confidence in, so those are things that we’re going to work through.”

The Rams selected Demby from Maine with a sixth-round pick in 2018. He played throughout the preseason and started Week 3 when right guard Austin Blythe was out because of an ankle injury.

Edwards is a rookie who was selected in the sixth round from Wisconsin.

Johnson, a third-year pro who has two interceptions this season, appeared to injure his shoulder in the first quarter against the 49ers, but he returned later in the game. He finished with four tackles.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Cheap Jacksonville Jaguars Jerseys and linebacker Myles Jack helped keep utilities on for several elderly Jacksonville residents this month.

Per JEA’s official Twitter account, Jack and the Jaguars’ one-time donation was enough to pay electric and water bills for 31 elderly customers who were unable to pay their bills. The amount donated was not released, but JEA also tweeted out a photo of a letter that Jack wrote to those he helped.

“I’m blessed to play the sport I love for a living, but I know that many individuals are less fortunate and may struggle from time to time with their monthly bills,” Jack wrote. “I want to do my part to support other members of the Jacksonville community.

“This week I made a financial contribution to help keep the lights on and the water running for you and others in our city. The Jaguars agreed to match my contribution so we could double the number of homes and families we could help. We hope it gives you temporary relief through whatever struggles you may be facing.”

Thank you to @MylesJack and the @Jaguars for their generous one-time donation to help pay the utility bills of some of our elderly customers who were unable to pay their bills. Through their generosity, they kept the lights on and water running for 31 customers. #DUUUVAL pic.twitter.com/WHWcLjv8Si

Jack, the Jaguars’ second-round pick in 2016, signed a four-year, $57 million contract extension in August that includes $33 million guaranteed.

RENTON, Wash. — Seattle Seahawks coach Pete Carroll says the team expects second-year tight end Will Dissly to miss the remainder of the season with an Achilles injury “unless something miraculous happens.”

ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reported Sunday that the Seahawks feared a torn Achilles for Dissly, who went down in the second quarter of their 32-28 win over the Cheap Cleveland Browns Jerseys. Carroll did not have any update on Dissly’s test results Monday but continued to assume the worst.

“Really unfortunate that we lose Will Dissly, who has been a fantastic part of our team,” he said. “Just a young guy, but he’s made a big impression early on all of us and we’re going to miss the heck out of him as he recovers from an Achilles injury.”

Losing Dissly put something of a damper on a come-from-behind victory that pushed the Seahawks to 5-1 for only the third time in franchise history. They’ll have defensive tackle Jarran Reed back from his six-game suspension as they try to get to 6-1 at home against the Cheap Baltimore Ravens Jerseys.

‘Turnover Thursday’ carries over for Seahawks, keys 5-1 start
It’s the second serious injury in as many years for Dissly, who tore his patellar tendon in Week 4 of his rookie season. A fourth-round pick out of Washington last year, Dissly caught four touchdowns in Seattle’s first five games this year to lead all Cheap NFL Jerseys tight ends. His six touchdowns in his first eight career games were tied for the most by a tight end since the 1970 AFL-NFL merger. He entered Sunday with 23 catches for 262 yards, having emerged as one of Russell Wilson’s go-to options in the passing game in addition to being a strong run-blocker.

“We talked last night in the locker room,” Carroll said. “His attitude was incredible. He’s talking about 2020 already and [saying], ‘You can count on me’ and ‘I can’t wait to get working.’ Just an amazing attitude. It was the attitude that took him thorough the past rehab, and you hate to get good at something like that, but he’s prepared to take this on and he’ll do a fantastic job and will beat all of the time frames that he’s faced with and will do a great job returning.”

With Dissly headed to injured reserve, Luke Willson and Jacob Hollister are the only true tight ends the Seahawks have on their 53-man roster. George Fant serves as a de facto tight end but started Sunday at left tackle while Duane Brown was sidelined because of a biceps injury. Carroll said Brown and right guard D.J. Fluker, who was also out Sunday due to a hamstring injury, are both day to day. He added that if Brown can’t play Sunday against Baltimore, he’d likely be back for the following week at Atlanta.

The Seahawks also have veteran tight end Ed Dickson on IR. He’s not eligible to play until the game against the Falcons in Week 9, by which point he’ll have missed the requisite eight games.

“He’s working really hard,” Carroll said of Dickson, who injured his knee over the summer. “He’s doing everything. He’s running and lifting and doing all that, all that he’s allowed to do. What will be telling is when he finally can come back on the field, can he do the football moves and the Cheap Football Jerseys regimen and respond and be OK with that. He’s working to get ready right now, so we’re very fortunate to have a chance to have a guy like Ed come back to us with not much of a space in there without Will. In the meantime, we’re going to count on our guys.”

Reed’s six-game suspension officially ended Monday, allowing him to return to team headquarters for the first time since the season began. The Seahawks will get a roster exemption allowing him to practice this week before he’s activated to the 53-man roster, but that will have to happen before Sunday’s game.

Carroll said Reed, who’s coming off a 10.5-sack season, will play against the Ravens, but it’s not clear how much.

“He’s like a kid at Christmas time, he’s so excited to be back with his teammates and be back with us,” Carroll said. “It seemed like it went kind of fast to us. It didn’t for him. I asked him specifically that. It seemed like it took forever. He’s been such an integral part of our club. It’s great to have him back in the locker room. His play is exceptional, too. I don’t know what to tell you about how it’s going to go. I haven’t seen him on the field yet. I know he worked really hard from everything he said to stay abreast of his conditioning and all of that. He looks good and strong and all, and we’ll just have to wait and see how he handles it.”

Carroll expects running back Rashaad Penny to be back to full speed Wednesday after he missed the Browns game with a hamstring injury.

McVay said the second opinion that Johnson will seek will determine if he is available Sunday or if he will miss extended time.

If Johnson is sidelined, backup safety Marqui Christian, a fourth-year pro, will start in his place.

The Rams, coming off an NFC championship and a Super Bowl LIII appearance, are 3-3, and they have lost three straight for the first time since McVay took over as coach in 2017.

The Rams will play their next three games away from home over a month-long period, including matchups against the Atlanta Falcons, the Cheap Cincinnati Bengals Jerseys in London and the Cheap Pittsburgh Steelers Jerseys.

“I trust that we’re going to be one of those teams that people seem to think that things aren’t going that well, but I think our guys are continuing to believe,” McVay said. “They’re staying the course, and we’re going to see this thing through.”

Cheap Carolina Hurricanes Jerseys winger Jordan Martinook will undergo a core muscle surgery for the second time this year, general manager Don Waddell announced Thursday.

The latest procedure is set for Friday. Martinook is expected to miss six to eight weeks to recover.

He also underwent a procedure on a core muscle during the offseason.

Martinook, 26, has one assist this season during the Hurricanes’ 4-0-0 start. He had a career-best 15 goals with five game winners last season but was in and out of the lineup during the playoffs due to injuries.

BUFFALO, N.Y. — On a night the Cheap Buffalo Sabres Jerseys top scorers were held in check, Kyle Okposo and his line of grinders came to the rescue.

Okposo set up both goals in regulation before Jack Eichel and Casey Mittelstadt scored in the shootout to help Buffalo match its best start to a season in 10 years with a 3-2 win over the Cheap Florida Panthers Jerseys on Friday night.

“I’ve never seen a bench cheer so much for another line having success,” coach Ralph Krueger said of how his so-called energy line scored goals 2:33 apart spanning the second intermission to stake Buffalo to a 2-0 lead. “To see all that hard work, the grinding they’ve been doing the first five games paying off was so big tonight.”

It might have been even more satisfying had the Sabres not squandered a two-goal, third-period lead for a second consecutive game. Buffalo blew a 4-2 lead in an eventual 5-4 overtime win over Montreal on Wednesday.

“We just sat back a little bit,” said Okposo, who had the primary assists on goals scored by Johan Larsson and defenseman Marco Scandella. “We just have to find a way to continue to play our game and continue to stay aggressive.”

Zemgus Girgensons also had two assists on a night Buffalo’s potent power play finished 0 for 4. Linus Ullmark finished with 41 saves, with two more in the shootout.

Buffalo improved to 4-0-1 and opened with three straight home wins for the first time since 2008-09.

Mike Hoffman forced overtime by scoring with 11 seconds left. Left open in the right circle, he waited patiently before snapping a shot over Ullmark’s left shoulder. Evgenii Dadonov had a goal and assist, and Jonathan Huberdeau had two assists for Florida (1-2-1).

Much of the credit goes to goalie Sergei Bobrovsky, who made 30 saves, including several in the final 1:45 of overtime.

First he lunged up to get a piece of Eichel’s shot on a breakaway. Then, Bobrovsky kicked out his left pad to stop Mittelstadt, who was set up at the right post.

“It’s a huge point for us,” Bobrovsky said. “Obviously, we could clean up some things, but I thought the boys stepped up and showed character.”

Bobrovsky was coming off a 6-3 loss to Carolina on Tuesday, when he was yanked after allowing four goals on 14 shots through the first period.

Eichel scored on Buffalo’s first shootout attempt by banking in a shot off the right post. After Florida’s Vincent Trocheck and Aleksander Barkov failed on their attempts, Mittelstadt sealed the victory by backhanding a shot inside the crossbar.

Ullmark was impressed by how the Sabres didn’t let up after surrendering the lead.

“We never hesitated. We stayed calm on the bench. No one got upset or anything like that,” he said.

And he blamed himself for allowing Hoffman’s goal, which came with Bobrovsky pulled for an extra attacker.

“I should’ve had that. He’s known to go top glove,” said Ullmark, who stopped 40 shots in a 4-3 overtime loss at Columbus on Monday night. “It’s my job to stop the puck.”

Larsson opened the scoring with 31 seconds left in the second period just as Hoffman finished serving a cross-checking penalty.

Okposo drove up the right wing and drew two defenders while entering the Panthers’ zone. Okposo then slipped a pass to an open Larsson, who roofed a shot in and then went soaring over Bobrovsky, who was a split-second late in getting across with 31 seconds left in the second period.

Buffalo’s power-play unit entered the game having converted eight of 15 opportunities.

Scandella put Buffalo up 2-0 by jumping into the play and converting Okposo’s pass into the left circle by scoring 2:02 into the third period.

The Sabres had several point streaks come to an end, including defenseman Rasmus Dahlin’s four-gamer, in which he had a goal and six assists, and rookie forward Victor Olofsson, who combined for four goals and an assist in his first four games.

Game notes
Buffalo entered the day with 18 goals scored in first four games, the most over that same span since scoring 19 in 2007-08. … Panthers remain the Cheap NHL Jerseys only team to not have scored a goal in the first period this season. … Panthers C Denis Malgin returned to the lineup after sitting out two games and replaced Henrik Borgstrom.

The Cheap Pittsburgh Penguins Jerseys will be without star center Evgeni Malkin “longer term” because of a lower body injury, coach Mike Sullivan announced on Monday. The coach said that Malkin’s season is not in jeopardy.

The 33-year-old Malkin left the second period of Pittsburgh’s 7-2 win over Columbus on Saturday after taking a hit to the boards while in an awkward position.

Malkin is the third Pittsburgh forward now out indefinitely with a lower body injury. Nick Bjugstad also was injured in Saturday’s game, though Sullivan said Malkin will be sidelined “a little bit longer than Nick.”

The Penguins opened the season without Bryan Rust, who was placed on long-term injury reserve after being hit with a slap shot in the final preseason game.

Malkin scored Pittsburgh’s lone goal in a season-opening loss to the Cheap Buffalo Sabres Jerseys. He tallied 21 goals — his lowest total since 2012-13 — in 68 games last season as the Penguins were a disappointment in the playoffs, swept by the Cheap New York Islanders Jerseys in the first round.

However, a day before Malkin was injured, Penguins general manager Jim Rutherford had praised him and projected a bounce-back season. “Geno worked very hard this summer physically and mentally, and he’s in a good place right now,” Rutherford told ESPN in an interview on Friday.

The Penguins are trying to retool on the fly, seeking to become a younger and faster team and maximize the window they have left with Sidney Crosby, 32, and Malkin. Pittsburgh added five new players this offseason, and six players joined the team last season. One of Pittsburgh’s big summer moves was trading away Phil Kessel, who often played on Malkin’s wing, to the Cheap Arizona Coyotes Jerseys. Kessel scored 174 points over the last two seasons.

After a winless start to the regular season, the Cheap San Jose Sharks Jerseys are hoping an old friend named Patrick Marleau can bring some stability.

The team on Wednesday signed the 40-year-old Marleau, who is the franchise leader in games (1,493), goals (508) and points (1,082). The deal is for one year with a $700,000 cap hit, which is the league minimum.

The signing will necessitate a roster move, as Cap Friendly had the Sharks with just $7,837 in cap space without Marleau on the roster.

Sharks GM Doug Wilson said that Marleau’s agent, Pat Brisson, asked him to keep them in the loop if the Sharks needed to add a veteran player. “We had several conversations where he shared his desire and dream to return to the Sharks,” Wilson said.

The forward last played for the Cheap Toronto Maple Leafs Jerseys , finishing last season with 37 points in 82 games — the 10th straight season in which he didn’t miss a game.

But his $6.25 million annual average salary was too much for the cap-strapped Leafs, who traded him to Carolina. The Hurricanes made the move in order to buy out the last year of Marleau’s contract, which netted them a first-round pick in 2020 (or 2021, if Toronto is in the lottery this summer).

Marleau had skated with former Sharks teammate Joe Thornton in the run-up to the season, and there was speculation that he could rejoin San Jose. But Wilson dismissed that notion in the offseason, citing a collection of younger players the Sharks wanted to give ice time and saying the franchise was in a different place than it was when Marleau left for Toronto in 2017.

Perhaps the Sharks’ frustrating start prompted an early shakeup. San Jose started the season 0-3-0, mustering only three goals scored to 12 against. The team lost three forwards to free agency in the offseason: wingers Joonas Donskoi and Gustav Nyquist, and center Joe Pavelski, the team’s captain who left a leadership void in the dressing room.

Wilson said that the team’s record wasn’t the motivating factor, but that the team’s injuries and lack of veteran depth were. San Jose was going to be without winger Marcus Sorensen against the Cheap Nashville Predators Jerseys on Tuesday.

“We stay very committed to what we’ve started the year with, which is integrating all the young players into the organization. But there are realities you have to deal with,” Wilson said. “While we have a lot of depth, this is an opportunity to add a veteran into our group to give us some veteran depth that’s versatile, understands how we play, and is very accepting of the role that [coach] Pete DeBoer may need on different nights.”

Marleau captained the Sharks from 2003 to 2009.

Rutherford said he entered this season looking to change the culture of his team and regain some urgency to win.

“Last season, the team never had that total team togetherness,” he said. “I think some of it came from players being content. I don’t blame them for being content — there’s been some good success here over the last four or five years — but you can’t be content to be successful going forward. So that had to change.”

The Cheap Washington Nationals Jerseys overcame a slow start and long odds to reach the National League Championship Series and are now the favorites to reach the franchise’s first World Series.

The Nationals stunned the Cheap Los Angeles Dodgers Jerseys with a late-inning rally in Wednesday’s decisive Game 5 victory to advance to the NLCS against the Cheap St. Louis Cardinals Jerseys.

At Caesars Sportsbook, the Nationals opened as -120 favorites over the Cardinals in the NLCS.

Washington was considered a contender entering the season but got off to a disappointing start. The Nationals were 19-31 in late May and were listed as a 70-1 World Series long shot at that point at SugarHouse sportsbooks in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. They are 7-2 now at SugarHouse.

When he was introduced as Cheap Philadelphia Phillies Jerseys manager in 2017, Gabe Kapler said his goal was to bring a World Series title to team owner John Middleton.

After two seasons without a playoff berth, the Phillies on Thursday fired Kapler, whose team (81-81) underachieved even with the addition of big-money free agent Bryce Harper and whose nontraditional, analytical style irritated many of the franchise’s passionate fans.

“Several years ago, I promised our loyal fans that I would do everything in my power to bring a world championship team to our city,” Middleton said in a statement. “I will never waver from that commitment. … I have decided that some changes are necessary to achieve our ultimate objective. Consequently, we will replace our manager.

“I am indebted to Gabe for the steadfast effort, energy and enthusiasm that he brought to our club, and we are unquestionably a better team and organization as a result of his contributions.”

Kapler is the third consecutive Phillies manager to be fired after no more than two full seasons, joining Pete Mackanin and Ryne Sandberg. Middleton said general manager Matt Klentak will lead the team’s search for a new manager.

The team also announced that pitching coach Chris Young, head athletic trainer Scott Sheridan and assistant athletic trainer Chris Mudd will not return. Hitting coach Charlie Manuel will return to his role as a senior adviser. The new manager will inherit the remainder of the coaching staff.

The Phillies have had internal conversations about Buck Showalter and Joe Girardi, among others, as potential replacements for Kapler, sources told ESPN’s Buster Olney. Some executives have speculated that former Cheap Chicago Cubs Jerseys manager Joe Maddon could also be a candidate, according to Olney.

Showalter used to work under Phillies president Andy MacPhail and with Klentak when all were with the Cheap Baltimore Orioles Jerseys.

The Phillies are the eighth team seeking a new manager this offseason, joining the Cheap Los Angeles Angels Jerseys, Cubs, Cheap New York Giants Jerseys, Cheap New York Mets Jerseys, Cheap San Diego Padres Jerseys, Cheap Pittsburgh Pirates Jerseys and Cheap Kansas City Royals Jerseys.

“I have tremendous respect for this organization, this franchise and this city,” Kapler said in a statement. “We came into 2019 with very high hopes. We fell short of those, and that responsibility lies with me. The next Phillies manager will inherit a team of talented, dedicated and committed players. There has been nothing more fulfilling in my professional career than the opportunity to work with the players on this team.

“… As I move on, I know that this organization is in a great spot and will see a lot of success going forward. My hope is that I helped contribute to a developing culture in the organization that flourishes in the years to come.”

Rival executives have wondered if Kapler might emerge as a managerial candidate with the Giants because of his ties with San Francisco’s Farhan Zaidi, according to Olney. Zaidi, the Giants’ head of Cheap Baseball Jerseys operations, used to work with Kapler in the Los Angeles Dodgers’ front office.

Philly took a gamble when it made Kapler the 54th manager in team history in November 2017, hoping a former big leaguer short on managerial experience — he previously had managed only one season in the minors (2007) — could lead the Phillies back to October baseball for the first time since 2011.

But the Kapler era in Philadelphia never took off.

In his first game, the Atlanta Braves rallied from a five-run deficit, winning on a three-run homer in the ninth inning. Kapler faced immediate scrutiny for lifting starter Aaron Nola with the Phillies up 5-0 and one out in the sixth inning. When Philly returned home after a season-opening 1-4 road trip, Kapler was booed resoundingly by Phillies fans.

The 2019 Phillies became the third team ever to commit more than $400 million to free agents in a single offseason, but they finished 81-81.

YEAR TEAM FA $
2014 Yankees* $471M
2009 Yankees $441M
2019 Phillies* $401M
2008 Yankees* $396.15M
2019 Padres* $327.4M

A historic contract given to Harper and big trades for catcher J.T. Realmuto and infielder Jean Segura didn’t help much in 2019. Although the Phillies spent much of April and May in first place, a seven-game losing skid in June stalled any momentum. And while they stayed in the National League wild-card race, they lost eight of nine in late September and ultimately were eliminated from the postseason by Harper’s former team, the Nationals.

Injuries were a big reason the Phillies couldn’t record their first winning record since 2011. They lost leadoff hitter Andrew McCutchen for the season in June, and six of their top seven relievers missed significant time. Free-agent addition David Robertson pitched just 6⅔ innings, and Pat Neshek and Tommy Hunter threw a combined 23⅓ innings. Also, starting center fielder Odubel Herrera played just 39 games before he was suspended for the rest of the season under Major League Baseball’s domestic violence policy.

The Phillies finished fourth in the NL East — 16 games behind the first-place Braves and eight games behind Cheap Milwaukee Brewers Jerseys for the second wild-card spot. In 2018, the Phillies were third at 80-82, finishing 10 games behind the Braves.

“I want to thank Kap for his tireless commitment to the Phillies over the last two years,” Klentak said in a statement. “When we hired Kap, it was our goal to develop a positive, forward-thinking and collaborative culture throughout the organization that would allow us to compete with the best teams in the league year in and year out.

“While we have fallen short in the win column for the last two years, I can confidently say that Kap’s efforts have established a strong and sustainable foundation for this organization moving forward.”

Kapler, 44, hit .268 in 12 major league seasons as an outfielder with the Cheap Boston Red Sox Jerseys, Cheap Texas Rangers Jerseys and four other clubs. Before managing the Phillies, he spent several years as the Dodgers’ director of player development.

The Nationals winning the World Series would be a boon for some sportsbooks and costly for others. Entering the postseason, only the Cheap Tampa Bay Rays Jerseys had attracted fewer bets to win the World Series at William Hill sportsbooks. There were some big World Series bets on the Nationals, though, including a $15,000 wager in October when Washington opened at 22-1 at William Hill. That ticket would pay a net $330,000.

Before the season, a bettor at DraftKings sportsbook placed three World Series bets on the Nationals, totaling just under $5,000, for a chance to win $102,476 if Washington wins it all.

Jeff Davis, head of risk for Caesars Sportsbook, told ESPN that Washington winning the World Series would be an “incredible” result for his shop. The Nationals also are the best possible result for Las Vegas sportsbook operator CG Technology.

However, the Borgata sportsbook in New Jersey said it is facing a “$200,000″ net liability on the Nationals in its World Series futures market.

“They are [the] biggest loser in our book, more than the Cheap New York Yankees Jerseys,” Darren Darby, head of sports at Roar Digital, which operates the sportsbook at the Borgata, told ESPN in a text message. “Cheap Houston Astros Jerseys and all others are winners for us.”

The Nationals were facing long odds Wednesday, trailing the Dodgers 3-1 entering the eighth inning, with Los Angeles ace Clayton Kershaw in the game. Bookmaker William Hill had the Nationals as 10-1 underdogs to pull off the comeback.

Washington’s Anthony Rendon and Juan Soto led off the inning with back-to-back home runs off Kershaw to tie the score, and Howie Kendrick hit a grand slam in the 10th inning to help send the Nationals to the NLCS.

A bettor at FanDuel’s sportsbook placed a $2,000 bet in-game on the Nationals at 7-1 when they were down 3-0 to the Dodgers. The bettor won a net $14,000.

The Astros host the Tampa Bay Rays on Thursday night in Game 5 of their division series. The winner will take on the Yankees in the ALCS.

Houston furniture store owner Jim “Mattress Mack” McIngvale placed another $1 million wager on the Astros to win Game 5 of the ALDS at William Hill US on Thursday, sources confirmed to ESPN. That gives him $1.5 million on Houston to win Game 5.

He has now placed nearly $8 million in bets on the Astros in an effort to mitigate potential losses from a promotion he is running. McIngvale also has a $1 million bet on an AL team winning the World Series.

HOUSTON — Eric Sogard homered in the first at-bat of his first start this postseason for Cheap Tampa Bay Rays Jerseys, going deep in the decisive Game 5 of the American League Division Series at Cheap Houston Astros Jerseys on Thursday night.

Sogard hadn’t started in nearly a month while dealing with lingering right foot discomfort.

The second baseman batted fifth against Astros starter Gerrit Cole, who struck out 15 over 7 2/3 scoreless innings when the Astros won Game 2 to take a 2-0 series lead before the Rays won twice at home.

“You’ve got Gerrit, who is probably the highest-strikeout pitcher in Cheap Baseball Jerseys. We value Eric Sogard as a very high-contact-oriented hitter,” manager Kevin Cash said.

PHOENIX — Police arrested Cheap San Diego Padres Jerseys minor league pitcher Jacob Nix after he was accused of breaking into a suburban Phoenix home through a doggie door and was shot with a Taser by the homeowner.

Nix, who is facing two counts of criminal trespassing, was released this week from the Maricopa County jail on $100 bond.

Charging documents indicate the 23-year-old Nix, who is playing for the Peoria Javelinas of the Arizona Fall League, was under the influence of either alcohol or drugs during Sunday’s incident.

Police say Nix tried to crawl through the doggie door of a Peoria home shortly before 4 a.m. The homeowner discovered Nix and kicked him in the face.

According to the complaint, Thomas Cosgrove, a minor league pitcher for the Padres, was there and pulled Nix out of the door. The homeowner fired his Taser, hitting Nix in the back.

The documents indicate Nix told responding officers he thought he was entering his house, but he would not elaborate when asked why he tried to go inside when his own house has no doggie door.

The Padres said in a statement Thursday that the team is aware of the incident and has been in contact with authorities and the commissioner’s office.

Online court records show Nix does not yet have an attorney. He has a preliminary court hearing scheduled for Oct. 16.

Sidelined by a sore foot for most of the American League Division Series, Rays second baseman Eric Sogard returned to the starting lineup on Thursday night and homered in his first at-bat. Bob Levey/Getty Images
The Rays were already down 4-0 when Sogard homered on the first pitch of the second inning.

In his only appearance this postseason before the ALDS finale, Sogard had an RBI single as a pinch hitter in Game 1 on Friday.

Cheap Washington Nationals Jerseys right-hander Anibal Sanchez will start Game 1 of the National League Championship Series on Friday night, facing righty Miles Mikolas of the Cheap St. Louis Cardinals Jerseys, the teams announced Thursday.

Nationals starters Stephen Strasburg and Patrick Corbin both pitched in Wednesday’s Game 5 win over the Cheap Los Angeles Dodgers Jerseys, and Max Scherzer started a Game 4 win Monday.

Sanchez started Game 3 of that series on Sunday, giving up one run on four hits and two walks, recording nine strikeouts over five innings with no decision.

The Cardinals will start Adam Wainwright in Game 2 of the NLCS, followed by ace Jack Flaherty in Game 3 and Dakota Hudson in Game 4.

Nationals manager Dave Martinez said X-rays showed nothing broken on the hand of catcher Kurt Suzuki, who was hit by a pitch in Washington’s win on Wednesday night.

Suzuki was going to go through concussion protocol once the Nationals arrived in St. Louis.

Suzuki was taken out of the game in the seventh inning when a high-and-tight fastball from Dodgers pitcher Walker Buehler deflected off his wrist and struck his face. The impact could be heard in the stadium, and Suzuki crashed to the ground and appeared to be in a lot of pain.

Nationals center fielder Victor Robles, who missed the last two games of the series against the Dodgers with a strained right hamstring, will be checked out Friday before the game to determine his status.

Brandon Lowe started the first four ALDS games for the Rays at second base and was 4-for-16 with eight strikeouts. The rookie had the only hit off Justin Verlander in the series opener, but also had an error that game that led to two unearned runs.

The Rays acquired Sogard, who went to the playoffs with Oakland in 2013 and 2014, in a trade from Toronto on July 28. He hit .266 with three homers and 10 RBIs in 37 games for the Rays during the regular season after hitting .300 with 10 homers and 30 RBIs in 73 games for the Blue Jays.

Sogard’s last start and last game at second base was Sept. 14, the day before he was a pinch hitter in his final appearance of the regular season.

Cash said the only concern about Sogard would be how he responded to being on his feet throughout the game. But the manager described Sogard as confident and really excited to be back in the lineup.

“I feel good. Obviously the extra rest time has helped me a lot,” Sogard said. “I’m confident out there I’ll be able to do as much as I normally do.”

Attorneys for Cheap Milwaukee Bucks Jerseys guard Sterling Brown have asked a federal judge to reject a $400,000 settlement offer of judgment from the city of Milwaukee.

“Mr. Brown deserves more than a mere apology,” his lawyer, Mark Thomsen, told ESPN’s The Undefeated. “He, as any human being, citizen of the USA, is entitled to an express vindication that his constitutional rights have been violated. He is entitled to no less.”

Cheap Philadelphia 76ers Jerseys star Ben Simmons hit the first 3-pointer of his NBA career in a preseason win over the Guangzhou Long-Lions on Tuesday night.

The 6-foot-10 point guard pulled up from deep beyond the arc seconds before halftime with the Sixers up big. He was treated to rapturous applause by the home Philly crowd when he hit the shot.

Simmons was 0-19 from beyond the arc in preseason, regular season and postseason games entering Tuesday. His last 3 came on Nov. 30, 2015 against Charleston while he was at LSU. It was the only 3-pointer he made in his college career.

Simmons has been routinely criticized for not taking open 3-pointers and for failing to develop a reliable jump shot. However, teammates said Simmons has shown increased confidence in the shot this offseason, and videos of his shooting sessions have gone viral in recent months.

Simmons didn’t attempt another 3 in Tuesday’s game and finished with 21 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists in 21 minutes of action.

TULSA, Okla. — Chris Paul, the president of the Cheap NBA Jerseys players’ association, said he isn’t very well informed about the league’s growing friction with its business partners in China in part because of his focus on the Cheap Oklahoma City Thunder Jerseys training camp.

“I don’t know but so much about it right now,” Paul said of the situation, which began with a tweet from Cheap Houston Rockets Jerseys general manager Daryl Morey in support of the anti-government protesters in Hong Kong. “I’ll try to find out what’s going on.”

Paul is encouraged by the early work of the revamped Thunder, who opened their preseason Tuesday with a 119-104 win over the Cheap Dallas Mavericks Jerseys, who opted to sit young stars Luka Doncic and Kristaps Porzingis on the first night of a back-to-back.

Paul, acquired from the Rockets along with first-round picks for longtime Thunder star Russell Westbrook, was joined by a pair of other point guards in Oklahoma City’s starting lineup. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, the centerpiece of the package the Cheap Los Angeles Clippers Jerseys sent to the Thunder in the Paul George deal, and Dennis Schroder played alongside Paul as Oklahoma City emphasized ball movement.

The Thunder scored 66 points on 63.4% shooting in the first half, assisting on 15 of 26 baskets, beginning with Paul’s feed to center Steven Adams for a surprising corner 3-pointer on the opening possession.

“The spirit was right and the ball was moving,” said Paul, who had six points, three rebounds, four assists and five turnovers in 17 minutes before sitting out the second half. “When you practice like that, you always wonder if it’s going to translate to the game. For us tonight, it did.”

Gilgeous-Alexander, a 21-year-old with star potential, dazzled in his Thunder debut with 24 points on 7-of-12 shooting. Schroder, Oklahoma City’s sixth man last season, had 13 points on 5-of-6 shooting and dished out five assists.

“We all have talent in that we can create for each other,” Paul said. “It just makes the game easier for you when you have multiple guys that can handle the ball.”

Thunder coach Billy Donovan didn’t commit to starting the three point guards together on a regular basis, but he liked the look of the lineup.

“All three of those guys are really important and they’re drivers of our offense because they’re smart, they have a really good feel of how to play and they’re unselfish,” Donovan said. “They’ve got to be the catalyst to moving the Cheap Basketball Jerseys. Putting them out there, my feeling was to get them comfortable playing with one another, get them playing with a good pace and tempo and speed, and I thought we came out to start the game playing like that.”

Brown had previously sued the city of Milwaukee, alleging police officers used excessive force and targeted him because he is black when they tased him in the back while citing him for a parking violation in January 2018. Brown’s initial lawsuit was filed in June 2018.

Two weeks ago, with the approval of Milwaukee’s Common Council, the city made a $400,000 settlement offer to the veteran guard but denied any liability. At the time, Thomsen called the offer insufficient because it didn’t include an admission of guilt and undervalued Brown’s losses.

Brown illegally parked in a disabled spot outside a Walgreens on Jan. 26, 2018, and was talking with a group of officers while waiting for his citation when the situation escalated. Officers took the 6-foot-6, 232-pounder down and used a stun gun because he didn’t immediately remove his hands from his pockets, as ordered.

Brown averaged 6.4 points and 3.2 rebounds off the bench for the Bucks last season. He will be playing in his third season with the Bucks this upcoming season.
